In 1947, Kalevala Koru organized the first modern jewelry design competition. One of the works awarded in the competition was the young Kirsti Ilvessalo's Puppet. As you know, the Nukkekäädy, which was inspired by wooden socks, and the accompanying Earrings became a Kalevala jewelry classic, which was made until the 2010s.
