Kalevankarhu was part of the extensive Early Age series designed by silversmith Kaisaleena Mäkelä, which drew its inspiration from the animal-themed jewelry worn by peoples of Finnish origin during the Iron Age. Alkuaika jewelry went on sale in the late 1990s.
